51 Genus Elasmias Pilsbry, 1910 Remarks. There are seven species in this genus, distributed from Japan, through SE Asia and Australia and into the Pacific. Species E. wakefieldiae , E. manilense and E. terrestre are found on mainland Australia, but only E. wakefieldiae is found on Lord Howe Island. Elasmias differs from Tornatellides and Tornatellinops by its globosely conical shape and the presence of a columellar lamella in adults. Elasmias wakefieldiae (Cox, 1868) Wakefield’s Miniature Treesnail Shell. Size: H = 2.4-2.6 mm, D = 2-2.1 mm. Colour: Transparent white; apical whorls appear golden brown in living animal. Shape: Ovately conical, globose; sutures weakly impressed; whorls rounded. Sculpture: Fine spiral grooves. Aperture: Subovate; small parietal lamella present. Columella: Broad, truncate, with a small lamella. Umbilicus: Imperforate. Animal. Transparent, colourless. Key distinguishing features. Globosely conical shape; pale shell with golden brown apical whorls in living animals. Habitat and occurrence. Widespread and common across all of Lord Howe Island; particularly abundant in the north. Also present on Roach Island. This species is also found on mainland Australia, in southeastern Qld and NSW. Living arboreally and in leaf litter. Remarks. Described by Cox (Clarence River, Grafton); accepted synonym is E. schola from Lord Howe Island. Elasmias wakefieldiae Elasmias wakefieldiae 1 mm
