107 Melloconcha flavescens (Iredale, 1944) Tiny Yellow Glass-Snail Shell. Size: H = 2.7-3.6 mm, D = 5-6.5 mm. Colour: Golden brown. Shape: Discoidal with a low spire; whorls slightly flattened above and rounded below a slightly angulate periphery. Sculpture: Shell smooth and glossy with fine, incised spiral grooves. Aperture: Ovately lunate; width greater than height. Umbilicus: Closed. Animal. Cream with dark grey neck, head and eye tentacles; end of tail often with reddish, orange or yellow colouration. Key distinguishing features. Shell with a low spire; angulate periphery; pale body colour with dark grey neck and eye tentacles. Habitat and occurrence. Widespread across the island; found in rainforest and moist woodland, in litter and in the crutches between palm stems and trunks. Remarks. The most common and widespread Melloconcha species. Larger than M. delecta and M. rosacea ; smaller than M. grata and M. prensa.
