83 Diphyoropa saturni (Cox, 1864) Sydney Copper Pinwheel Snail Shell. Size: H = 1.6-1.8 mm, D = 3.2-3.5 mm. Colour: Uniform coppery brown. Shape: Discoidal with a flat to slightly sunken spire; whorls rounded; sutures impressed. Sculpture: Protoconch with spiral lirae fading and changing to widely spaced radial ribs towards teleoconch; teleoconch with moderately widely spaced radial ribs. Aperture: Ovately lunate. Umbilicus: Widely open. Animal. Body white. Key distinguishing features. Small, uniformly coloured shell with a flat spire, wide umbilicus and moderately widely spaced ribs. Habitat and occurrence. Found predominantly in the central part of the island, from Steven’s Reserve to the base of Intermediate Hill, but also known from North Bay and Mt Gower. Remarks.
