28 Family Assimineidae (Palmleaf Snails) Genus Limborelia Iredale, 1944 Shell. Size: H = 5-9 mm, D = 4-6 mm. Shape: High spired, conical, with angulate periphery. Sculpture: Rather smooth; spiral lines may be present. Aperture: Ovate, with a small basal notch formed by circum-umbilical ridge; lip thin. Umbilicus: Narrow, with circum-umbilical keel. Operculum: Present. Colour: Yellowish to dark brown, often appearing darker in live specimens. Animal. Long cephalic tentacles; eyes on outer bases of tentacles; broad, expandable snout. Body colour cream to black. Habitat and occurrence. Found in rainforest and moist woodland, in leaf litter or on exposed wet rock faces. Remarks. Differs from Opinorelia in having a more conical, more robust, less globose shell, angulate periphery, lack of obvious sculpture and presence of circum- umbilical ridge.
