132 Family Punctidae (Pinhead or Dot Snails) Genus Pernastela Iredale, 1944 Shell. Size: H = 0.8-2.5 mm, D = 1.2-3.5 mm. Colour: Pale golden brown to cream. Shape: Trochoidal with a moderate to raised spire; whorls shouldered or rounded above and flattened below an angulate periphery. Sculpture: Protoconch with spiral lirae; teleoconch with strong, sinuate, closely to widely spaced radial ribs; microsculpture of spiral lirae. Aperture: Ovately to roundly lunate. Umbilicus: Moderately wide to narrow. Animal. Not known. Habitat and occurrence. Island wide. Remarks. This poorly- known genus is relatively abundant but live-collected material is rare. Dedicated leaf litter collecting would be the best way to find live specimens.
