43 Palaina lucia Iredale, 1944 Lucy’s Staircase-snail Shell. Size: H = 3.2-3.5 mm, D = 1.9-2 mm. Colour: Reddish brown, with a white peripheral band on the last whorl and a white radial streak above the aperture. Shape: Globose pupiform; sutures deeply impressed. Sculpture: Strong, widely spaced axial ribs. Aperture: Circular. Lip strongly reflected. Umbilicus: Closed. Operculum: Present. Animal. Not known. Key distinguishing features. Small size, widely spaced ribs, reddish brown colouration. Habitat and occurrence. Mt Gower and Mt Lidgbird upper slopes and summits; Little Slope. Rare. Remarks. Co-occurs wth P. capillacea and P. embra , but can be distinguished by its more widely spaced ribs and relatively broader shell. Palaina lucia 1 mm
